Regent Craft, North Kingstown, R.I., and Fairlead, Portsmouth, Va., have entered a partnership to advance the development, production, and deployment of Regent’s Seaglider technology for defense and logistics applications, the companies stated in a Sept. 18 joint press release.

The agreement brings together Regent Defense’s Viceroy and Squire maritime platforms with Fairlead’s experience in ship repair, fabrication, and systems integration. According to the release, the goal is to accelerate delivery timelines, expand U.S. industrial capacity, and provide the Navy and Marine Corps with additional options for contested logistics and resupply.

The companies noted that the collaboration is aimed at de-risking Regent’s transition from prototype to scalable production. By pairing Seaglider wing-in-ground effect technology with Fairlead’s fabrication and systems integration capabilities, the companies said they intend to provide faster deployment of defense platforms for the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Special Operations forces.

Regent’s Seaglider vessels are designed to operate across sea states with high-speed, long-range, low-signature capability. The companies stated that the platforms could support distributed operations, ship-to-shore resupply, medical evacuation, and contested logistics across theaters such as the Indo-Pacific.

The partnership also highlights domestic shipbuilding investment. Manufacturing and integration will be performed in the United States, which the companies said will sustain and grow maritime workforce jobs while reinforcing industrial resilience. Beyond defense use, the release said the collaboration will allow for scalability in third-party logistics and supply chain operations.
