The Port of Albany in New York announced it is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified vendors for major infrastructure upgrades at its terminal located on Smith Boulevard. The request for proposals outlines plans to rehabilitate approximately 1,160' of wharf and replace 930' of on-dock rail track.

The project is aimed at strengthening the wharf deck infrastructure and enhancing rail capabilities to improve the port’s operational efficiency and service quality, the port said in a news release. Full details, including engineering reports and contract drawings, are available within the bid documents posted on the port’s official website.

Proposals must be submitted in sealed format and received at the Port of Albany administrative offices, in Albany, N.Y.

The Port of Albany contributes more than $813 million annually to the state economy and supports approximately 4,500 jobs across New York. The upcoming upgrades are expected to further boost economic development and reduce operational costs, according to the port, Upstate New York’s largest public port and logistics hub.

The port recently completed nearly $100 million in maritime infrastructure upgrades and investment and more than $170 million in an expansion project.
