David Turner of the Elliott Bay Design Group in Seattle, Wash., has been appointed as to the National Commercial Fishing Safety Advisory Committee to represent the viewpoint of naval architects and marine engineers. The committee assists the Department of Homeland Security and Coast Guard on matters related to commercial fishing vessel safety.

Turner is a project manager at EBDG with 20 years of experience in naval architecture and vessel design. He is responsible for the fishing vessel sector at EBDG and has managed and worked onboard vessels for projects ranging from concept design, vessel refurbishments, stability and weight calculations, to efficiency improvements.
