The 80-meter Legionnaire, the second of two car-passenger ferries built for the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, was launched July 15 at Damen Shipyards, Galati, Romania. The Legionnaire and its sister ship the Veteran are part of a large vessel replacement project undertaken by the provincial government. The Legionnaire will operate on the short-haul route from Portugal Cove to Bell Island, the busiest of the province.
