In response to major concerns about operational challenges in Long Beach, Calif., because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the possibility for related facility shutdowns there, the Passenger Vessel Association has voted to move its Annual Convention at MariTrends 2022 to the Cincinnati Marriott in Covington, Ky., from March 4-7, 2022.

Covington, Ky., is across the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati.

“The PVA Board of Directors is committed to safely holding a face-to-face convention for PVA members,” PVA president Colleen Stephens said in a statement. “Our decision to move the convention to Northern Kentucky will allow us to accomplish this goal. We hope to reschedule the convention in Long Beach in the next several years.”

PVA is working to make the transition as seamless as possible for exhibitors and attendees as the PVA Annual Convention moves to to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. PVA is currently working to put together a floor plan for the MariTrends 2022 exhibit floor that mirrors what was done for Long Beach. As a result, PVA expects very little change in booth locations.
