On July 31, the 201’x48’x18’, DP-2 OSV Seacor Brave was launched for Seacor Marine, one of six OSVs Seacor is building at Master Boat Builders, Bayou La Batre, Ala. The yard designed the 3,800-hp vessel and worked with Seacor on other design details. Tankage will include 5,000 bbls. of liquid mud; 4,500 cu. ft. bulk mud; and 139,758 gals. fuel. The OSV has a 144'x38', 600-LT-capacity cargo deck. The 2,031-dwt Seacor Brave will be powered by twin Caterpillar 3512C Tier 3 diesel engines, each producing 1,911 hp at 1,600 rpm. The Cats will connect to 82"x70", 5-bladed bronze propellers through Twin Disc MGX-5600 red slip clutch marine gears with 5.04:1 reduction ratios.
