The Department of Energy (DOE) has received an application from Venture Global LNG to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a proposed LNG export facility to be built along the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Louisiana.
Venture Global is seeking approval to export LNG to any country with which the U.S. does not have a free
trade agreement (FTA) that requires national treatment for trade in natural gas (non-FTA countries), and with
which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law or policy.
The request calls for a 25-year export term. The comment period ends June 26.
