Jim McClaugherty has joined SeaTrepid International, an underwater engineering organization specializing in applied robotic solutions in support of petroleum, military and scientific applications, as senior sales manager for the Gulf of Mexico.
McClaugherty has 45 years of experience in the offshore industry, starting his career as a commercial diver in 1970 in the Gulf of Mexico. Over a 10-year period, he moved up the ranks as diver, lead diver and diver supervisor.
He then became a project manager and won a series of promotions to vice president and sales/business development director for a number of diving and marine contracting companies. McClaugherty served with TETRA Technologies as director of marketing and was most recently with SURF Subsea as vice president of business development.
McClaugherty has specialized in developing long-term loyal industry relationships, SeaTrepid says. His philosophy is “service with integrity,” the company says, as he firmly believes this is the key to successful business relationships.
“We are very pleased that Jim joined our company to work with us and grow the company, especially with the timing combining so well with us adding the additional three Comanche ROVs to our already established portfolio,” says Steve Walsh, vice president of sales marketing in a SeaTrepid news release.
SeaTrepid, established in 2003, says the three new Comanche ROVs are designed to offer a light work class solution in a small package that requires less deck space than comparable systems but still has the industry advantage of offering both seven- and four-function manipulators.
