LOGISTEC, Montreal, announced two 120-metric-ton harbor cranes are now operational at the Port of Houston’s Care Terminal, expanding heavy-lift and project cargo handling capacity at the facility.

Care Terminal is operated by Gulf Stream Marine, part of the LOGISTEC network, and provides stevedoring and terminal services for breakbulk, project, and specialized cargo. The new cranes are intended to improve handling efficiency and increase capacity for heavy and oversized cargo moving through the Gulf Coast.

According to LOGISTEC, the crane installation is the first phase of a broader investment program at the terminal that will include berth improvements, rail and yard upgrades, expanded storage capacity, and improved terminal access and circulation. The upgrades are intended to increase throughput, improve safety, and support growing volumes of industrial and project cargo moving through the region.

Port Houston officials said the investment supports the port’s role as a major breakbulk and project cargo gateway along the Houston Ship Channel.

The terminal improvements are also tied into LOGISTEC Direct, the company’s logistics network connecting terminal operations with trucking, rail, warehousing, and distribution services across its North American network.
