Lake Assault Boats, Superior, Wis., has completed a refit of a 36’ fireboat for the Portage Fire Department. Work was completed at Lake Assault’s Portsmouth, Va., facility.
The scope of the refurbishment included a full overhaul of the vessel’s electrical and electronics systems, the fabrication and installation of a redesigned radar mast, and enhancements to the bow ramp hoisting system, Lake Assault said in a social media post. The boat was also repowered with twin 350-horsepower Mercury Verado outboard engines, which feature joystick controls.
“These upgrades significantly enhance the vessel’s operational capabilities, maneuverability, and reliability for emergency response,” the company said.
The Portage fireboat refit is one of several similar projects Lake Assault Boats has completed in recent months, they noted.
WorkBoat reached out to Lake Assault Boats for further specs on the vessel and information on the refit.
