Volvo Penta, Gothenburg, Sweden, announced on Monday that it has appointed Hanna Ljungqvist as head of its marine business unit and a member of its executive group, effective Oct. 1.
Ljungqvist returns to Volvo Penta following leadership roles across the Volvo Group, most recently serving as vice president and head of Volvo Trucks in India and Indonesia. She previously held several senior management roles within Volvo Penta’s marine division, including as vice president, service market marine.

Volvo Penta, a subsidiary within the Volvo Group, supplies power and propulsion solutions to commercial marine and leisure boating markets.
Ljungqvist joined the Volvo Group in 2008 through its international graduate program after earning an MSc in industrial design engineering from Chalmers University of Technology. She has held a variety of commercial and technical roles within AB Volvo.

Ljungqvis's appointment follows the departure of Johan Inden, former president of Volvo Penta's marine business, who assumed the role of CEO at Nimbus Group AB, Göteborg, Sweden, on Sept. 1.
