U.S. Coast Guard Vice Adm. Charles W. Ray, Pacific Area commander, addressed Coast Guardsmen during a personnel inspection on Jan. 6, 2015. Coast Guard Pacific Area is made up of 13,000 active duty, reserve, civilian and volunteer personnel responsible for maritime safety, security and stewardship across more than 73 million square miles of ocean, coastline and inland waterways.
