Boston Ship Repair, Boston, was recently awarded a $13.8 million contract from the Navy for comprehensive shipyard availability for the regular overhaul and drydocking of the USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10), a vital asset of the Military Sealift Command. The Burlington, a member of the MSC's Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport fleet, was delivered by Austal USA in 2018.

Beginning Nov. 1, the work will take place at Boston Ship Repair's state-of-the-art facilities located next to the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in Boston's Seaport. The project has an anticipated completion date of Feb. 6, 2024.

Boston Ship Repair’s facilities include a 65,000-ton displacement graving dock with a length of 1,150 feet. It is one of the two member shipyards of North Atlantic Ship Repair (the other, Philadelphia Ship Repair).
