Fairbanks Morse Defense, Beloit, Wis., has named George Whittier as its chief executive officer.
Whittier spent more than a decade with the company, including six years as CEO, and reenters the position as Fairbanks Morse Defense continues to support U.S. naval and maritime defense programs. The company provides engines, propulsion systems, and onboard technologies for military vessels and shipbuilding operations.
In a statement, Whittier said he intends to build on the company’s long-standing role in the U.S. industrial base and expand its position within the maritime defense sector. He emphasized a continued focus on supporting customers and advancing the company’s capabilities.
Fairbanks Morse Defense said the leadership change comes as the company looks to scale operations and strengthen its position in the defense industrial base, with an emphasis on delivering next-generation technologies to naval and maritime customers.
