Eastern Shipbuilding Charities Inc., Panama City, Fla., has donated $35,000 to the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, bringing its total contributions to the nonprofit to $242,000.

Representatives from both organizations marked the donation during a check presentation earlier this month. The latest contribution continues more than a decade of support for the center, which serves children and families in Northwest Florida.

“Giving back to our community is central to who we are as an organization. Reaching the $242,000 giving milestone is a testament to our enduring partnership with the Advocacy Center and our commitment to the safety and well-being of local children,” said Joey D’Isernia, CEO of Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc.

Brent Patrick, CEO of the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, said the funds remain local and support safety, healing and therapy programs for children.

“ESG’s continuous support provides us with the steady foundation needed to make a permanent difference for good in our region,” Patrick said.

The annual Eastern Shipbuilding Charities Fishing Tournament is a primary source of funding for the charity’s donations. The event brings together Eastern employees, vendors, corporate sponsors and local residents, drawing more than 690 participants.

Tournament proceeds support the charity’s community giving, including contributions to the advocacy center. Eastern Shipbuilding Charities also provides funding to other local nonprofits and civic organizations throughout the year.
