The Cyprus-flagged oil tanker Nordbay did some damage along the New Orleans riverfront Tuesday evening, the Coast Guard said, alliding with two facilities along the Mississippi.

According to the Coast Guard, the empty 62,000-ton struck the New Orleans water intake pilings and a derelict wharf near Spain Street and Crescent Park.

During the allisions, the hull of the vessel was reportedly damaged, which resulted in a discharge of ballast water.
