Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair, Erie, Pa., and BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards, Jacksonville, Fla., will build a 185,000-bbl. coastal petroleum and chemical articulated tug/barge for Seabulk Tankers.
Donjon will build the barge and BAE will handle construction of the 12,000-hp tug for Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Seabulk Tankers. Delivery is expected in the first half of 2016.
"This barge order brings additional work and stability to DSR and continues our efforts to provide quality and cost effective shipbuilding and repair services in response to the needs of the International Marine Community," said J. Arnold Witte, president and CEO of Donjon Marine Co.
"This ATB order brings additional capacities to Seabulk's growing fleet and positions us to service existing and developing customer requirements with modern, efficient equipment," said Seabulk's president and COO Daniel Thorogood.
