The U.S. Coast Guard has expanded its deployment of Cav’s cybersecurity compliance platform fleetwide following two pilot projects, including one aboard the icebreaker Storis, the company announced Sept. 30.
Cav, Falls Church, Va., said its Compliance OS platform reduced the cybersecurity authorization timeline aboard Storis by 90%, shortening a process that would have taken years to weeks. The pilot focused on operational technology aboard the commercial vessel recently acquired for the Coast Guard’s expanding icebreaker fleet. A separate pilot addressed enterprise information technology.
The expanded contract covers ships, drones, shore installations and aircraft, according to Cav. The platform uses artificial intelligence to automate compliance assessments and continuously monitor cybersecurity controls across cloud, on-premises and air-gapped environments.
“Unclassified through Top Secret, we understand firsthand that systems must be mission-ready at all times,” said Ish Boyle, Cav’s CEO.
The company said the platform supports classified systems and air-gapped environments, which operate separately from external networks. Its approach is intended to replace periodic, manual compliance reviews with ongoing monitoring of cybersecurity controls.
“Cav makes mission assurance real-time instead of point-in-time,” Boyle said.
The Coast Guard expansion follows the platform’s launch earlier this year and Cav’s receipt of FedRAMP High authorization in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The authorization supports federal adoption of the platform for compliance with cybersecurity controls under NIST Special Publication 800-53.
Cav said it executed 14 new contracts with U.S. government and defense technology customers over the past 12 months. Its customers include the Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Department of Health and Human Services.
The company reported annual recurring revenue growth of more than 500% year over year and said it expects to achieve positive cash flow and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in fiscal 2027.
The announcement did not disclose the Coast Guard contract’s value or a deployment schedule.
