The Jackson County Port Authority has named Charles David Tillotson director of Port Pascagoula. He began the job Aug. 24 after the authority’s board approved his employment agreement and the Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved his appointment, according to the port.
Tillotson has more than 30 years of experience in port operations, logistics and business development. He most recently served as executive director and CEO of Louisiana Gateway Port in Plaquemines Parish, La., from December 2022 through January 2026.
His previous positions include roles with Port Manatee, Carver Companies, Diversified Port Holdings, Metro Ports and Marine Terminals Corporation/Ports America. His cargo experience spans breakbulk, dry and liquid bulk, containers and roll-on/roll-off operations.
“Port Pascagoula is in an important period of opportunity, and we look forward to working with Mr. Tillotson as we continue strengthening operations, pursuing new business and advancing strategic development opportunities,” said Greg Williams, president of the port authority’s board of commissioners.
Tillotson is a U.S. Navy veteran who also held civilian military logistics positions supporting marine and breakbulk cargo operations. Port Pascagoula operates two deepwater harbors on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, with public and private terminals handling more than 32 million tons of cargo annually.
