C &C Marine and Repair, Belle Chasse, La., has established an aluminum fabrication division that will support vessel construction, repair, modification and component work.
Darren Bolotte will lead the division. Bolotte has more than 40 years of experience in aluminum vessel manufacturing and previously owned and operated Aluma Marine & Fabrication for more than 23 years.
C&C Marine has historically focused primarily on steel fabrication. The aluminum operation will allow the shipyard to pursue aluminum vessel contracts and handle projects involving both steel and aluminum construction at one facility, the shipyard said in a press release.
The shipyard has begun using the division’s capabilities to build a 50' aluminum crewboat and support several existing projects.
C&C Marine is also building a dedicated aluminum fabrication bay scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2026. The facility will support aluminum vessel construction, fabrication and repair work as the company expands its shipyard footprint.
