A new luxury passenger vessel, Lady Kailani, has entered service for Kauai Sea Tours, Eleele, Hawaii, offering tours along Kauai’s Nā Pali Coast.
Designed by Incat Crowther, Sydney, Australia, and built by Breaux Brothers Enterprises, Iberia Parish, La., the 65'x27' aluminum catamaran has a 3'6" draft. Its delivery allows Kauai Sea Tours to expand to year-round tourism operations on Kauai.
Lady Kailani is designed as a multifunctional tourism vessel with a focus on guest experience and operational capability, according to Incat Crowther. The boat features a custom hydraulic swim platform for snorkeling and ocean access, along with two water slides and two freshwater showers located on either side of the platform.
The Subchapter T vessel can carry up to 149 passengers across three decks, each offering 360° ocean views. Guest amenities include protected outdoor seating on the main and upper decks, an upper deck VIP dining area, a shaded helm lounge where guests can ride alongside the captain, and an open-air bow viewing area.
Additional features include a large interior galley, a walk-up bar, two accessible bathrooms on the main deck, and a sound system designed for narration and music.
Darren Paskal, co-owner of Kauai Sea Tours, said, “Lady Kailani is the first luxury catamaran of its kind on Kauai. Our tours are often described as 'life-changing.' The Nā Pali Coast is truly magical to behold, with towering sea cliffs, waterfalls, hidden valleys, and abundant wildlife – all made even more special by the deep local knowledge and fun personalities of our captains and crew. Lady Kailani gives us an incredible new way to help our guests create treasured memories, whether it's a romantic escape, a family adventure, or milestone celebration.”
Grant Pecoraro, Incat Crowther’s managing director for North America, said, “Lady Kailani has been designed to not only provide a world-class tourism experience, but to be a robust, safe, and operationally capable vessel. Our U.S.-based team of naval architects worked closely with Breaux Brothers and Kauai Sea Tours throughout the design process to turn the operator’s vision into a reality. The result is a truly unique vessel that is tailored specifically to Kauai Sea Tours’ operations and enables them to expand their award-winning services further.”
Lady Kailani is powered by dual Cummins X15 engines, each delivering 469 kW at 2,100rpm. The propeller-driven vessel is capable of speeds of up to 24 knots.
The boat has capacity for 740 gals. of fuel oil, 185 gals. fresh water, and 185 gals. sullage.
