Saronic Technologies, Austin, Texas, and NVIDIA Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., have announced a strategic collaboration focused on advancing maritime autonomy, robotics, and AI-driven shipbuilding. The partnership aims to combine Saronic’s work in autonomous naval systems and ship design with NVIDIA’s computing hardware, AI software, and simulation tools.

“By combining Saronic’s deep expertise in maritime autonomy and next-generation shipbuilding with NVIDIA’s world-class AI and computing capabilities, we’re simultaneously developing the most capable and resilient maritime systems in the world and building the industrial engine to produce them at scale and pace,” said Dino Mavrookas, Saronic Co-founder and CEO. “This collaboration reinforces our leadership in maritime innovation and enables us to move even faster to scale the delivery of next-generation autonomous vessels and ships to meet the strategic demands of the maritime domain.”

Saronic uses NVIDIA’s accelerated computing systems, AI models, and development tools for simulation, software development, and autonomous platform operations. NVIDIA hardware is embedded on board all Saronic vessels, enabling them to process vision and reasoning models in real time for autonomous decision-making.

According to the companies, NVIDIA’s AI software and computing capabilities have shortened Saronic’s development cycles, allowing the company to train, verify, and deploy new autonomy software in hours instead of days. The collaboration will expand to include joint research and development projects focused on improving maritime robotics and autonomy technologies.

Saronic said it is also pursuing AI-based methods for ship design and production, with the goal of modernizing and reindustrializing U.S. shipbuilding.
