On Sept. 15, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issued four new contracts for dredging and vessel maintenance projects, with work set to take place in Louisiana and Hawaii over the next year. Work was awarded to Muddy Water Dredging LP, Orange, Texas, Weeks Marine, Covington, La., Pacific Shipyards International LLC, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Manson Construction Co., Seattle.

Muddy Water Dredging received an $18.4 million firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance dredging of the Calcasieu River and Pass in Louisiana. The cumulative value of the contract stands at $23.4 million. The project will cover work in Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes, with completion expected by Oct. 31, 2026. Six bids were submitted online for the job. The Corps’ New Orleans District is managing the contract, with fiscal 2025 civil construction funds providing the initial $18.4 million obligation.

Weeks Marine has been awarded a $21,181,000 firm-fixed-price contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District for cutterhead dredging services in Morgan City, La. The contract was competitively bid online, with three offers received. Work is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 24, 2025. The amount of this action is $21,181,000, with a total cumulative face value of $38,824,000. Fiscal 2025 civil construction funds in the amount of $21,181,000 were obligated at the time of the award.

Pacific Shipyards International was awarded an $8.8 million contract for the overhaul of the Corps’ dredge vessel Essayons. Three bids were received via the internet for the firm-fixed-price award. Work will be carried out in Honolulu, with a completion date of Feb. 20, 2026. The Portland District is overseeing the project, with fiscal 2025 operation and maintenance funds fully obligated at the time of the award.

Manson Construction Co. secured an $8.1 million contract modification for dredging in the Atchafalaya Basin, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and other areas near Morgan City, La. The total face value of the contract now stands at $8.1 million. Work is scheduled for completion by Jan. 4, 2026. The New Orleans District is the contracting authority, with fiscal 2025 civil operation and maintenance funds obligated at award.
