Aluma Marine & Fabrication Announces Major Investment and Expansion to Lead the Future of U.S. Boatbuilding
Harvey, Louisiana – Aluma Marine & Fabrication, a trusted American builder of aluminum vessels for the U.S. military, government agencies, and commercial operators, has entered a new phase of growth following a significant investment by a Florida-based technology and development group.
The investment is fueling the expansion of Aluma Marine’s shipyard and the launch of new programs in unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and fully electric workboats, placing the company at the forefront of the U.S. maritime industry.
Aluma Marine has doubled its land area from four to eight acres to support this growth. The first stage—a full renovation of the existing construction hangar—has been completed. Construction is already underway on two new 16,000-square-foot buildings, scheduled for completion in mid-2026. These facilities will expand the company’s capabilities in new boatbuilding, advanced fabrication, maintenance, and refit services.
The new investors are also supporting the Aluma team with increased manpower, funding, and technical capacity. This will accelerate the development of next-generation unmanned platforms, including U.S.-built USVs designed for military, law enforcement, and industrial applications. These vessels will incorporate autonomous navigation, mission-specific payloads, and hybrid or low-signature propulsion systems to meet evolving national security and commercial demands.
Alongside its unmanned programs, Aluma Marine is advancing work on its first fully electric workboat, which is scheduled for delivery in October. This vessel marks a milestone in sustainable U.S. shipbuilding—combining heavy-duty aluminum construction with zero-emission propulsion to lower operating costs and environmental impact.
“Our expansion is about more than building bigger facilities—it’s about building the future,” said Darren Bolotte, founder and manager of Aluma Marine & Fabrication. “We are combining decades of proven boatbuilding and fabrication experience with strong new financial backing. This allows us to increase our capacity, create new jobs, and deliver advanced unmanned and electric vessels to meet the demands of tomorrow’s operators.”
With a strengthened investment base, expanded facilities, and a sharpened focus on unmanned and electric technologies, Aluma Marine & Fabrication is positioned to lead the next generation of American shipbuilding—delivering vessels that are mission-ready, sustainable, and built to endure.
