An Alcatraz City Cruises ferry struck a San Francisco pier while docking Sunday evening, shattering windows onboard and alarming passengers returning from Alcatraz Island.
The incident occurred as the vessel approached Pier 31 on San Francisco’s waterfront. Video shared by local media showed the ferry making hard contact with the pier during docking operations.
