PORT ENGINEER
The Port Engineer is the lead engineer of the local Moran fleet reporting directly to the General Manager. This position includes accepting a high level of accountability and displaying strong initiative for the operation and maintenance of the floating and support assets of the division, including providing direct support to the tug Captains & Engineers. Effective communication, coordination and personnel interface are key to the success of this position. The Port Engineer is required to be fully conversant with, and continually set a good example of, safe working practices per Moran’s Mission, Vision and Values including compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS). Hours of work are the division’s business hours Monday through Friday, with the incumbent expected to be available, when required, during off-hours, weekends, and holidays. Some travel is required.

PORT CAPTAIN
The Port Captain is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on tugs / towing operations and assists aboard assets with operations, safety, and engineering. The Port Captain is expected to regularly board each asset and will collaborate with operations, safety, and engineering to ensure regulatory compliance and customer services are met. Furthermore, the Port Captain will interact with marine personnel assisting with education and training to ensure effective safe operations are met. This position is responsible for promoting and ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
The Port Captain effectively works in an unsupervised capacity and communicates with employees shoreside and afloat. The incumbent must work both individually and as a team member, demonstrating good judgment, initiative, and excellent organizational skills. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, but the incumbent must be available, if required, during off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
