Quantic Engineering and Logistics Corporation, Panama City Beach, Fla., will serve as Eastern Shipbuilding Group’s integrated logistics support (ILS) subcontractor for the recently awarded USCG offshore patrol cutter contract.

In this capacity, Quantic will prepare equipment and ship system technical manuals, reliability and maintainability analysis, reliability centered maintenance, provisioning technical documentation, manpower analysis, system safety analyses, training documentation, crew training, and other ILS products.

Quantic will be able to leverage similar experience working on Coast Guard vessels including buoy tenders and Great Lakes icebreakers. Quantic has previously worked with Eastern Shipbuilding on other projects including the OPC Phase I preliminary and contract design, FDNY fireboats, numerous oil field supply and workboats, and engineering projects.

Founded in 1990, Quantic performs ILS work for shipyards, ship owners, and marine equipment manufacturers on government and commercial shipbuilding contracts.

Eastern Shipbuilding, also headquartered in Panama City, Fla., will design and and build the first series of nine offshore patrol cutters (OPCs) for the Coast Guard. The initial contract for detailed design work is worth $110.29 million and includes options for two additional vessels. Construction of the first vessel is expected to commence in 2018. The full Phase II award has a potential value of $2.38 billion if all options are exercised.
