Morgan City, La.-based Conrad Shipyard and Seattle-based Harley Marine Services have signed a contract to build a pair of 116' articulated tug/barge unit tugs.

Designed by Entech Designs LLC, Kenner, La., the ATB tugs will be powered by twin GE 6L250, Tier 4 diesel engines, producing 2,280 hp each.

No other specifics about the outfitting of the boats were available. Conrad has previously built tugs for Harley.

“We strive every day to exceed out customer’s expectations and to improve the communities in which we live and operate,” chairman and CEO Harley Franco said in a statement announcing the deal. “Conrad Shipyard has the same philosophy as it relates to customer service and in giving back.”
