The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two crewmembers from a capsized tugboat in Louisiana on Tuesday.

A crewmember aboard the 46’3”x20’1”x6’9” Katlynn Necole contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard sector New Orleans at 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon to report that the vessel was taking on water. Coast Guard cutter Razorbill along with crewboat Simon responded to the distress call from the vessel, located two miles east of Baptiste Collette off the coast of Plaquemines Parish.

Once on scene, the crew of the Razorbill lowered the cutter’s small boat, and transferred two people from the superstructure of the sunken vessel aboard, and then returned to the cutter. The Razorbill transported the crewmembers to Venice, La. No injuries were reported.

The Katlynn Necole is owned by LA Marine Service LLC in Belle Chasse, La.
