The building measures 225’ x 155’ and is designed with two construction bays, each equipped with two, twenty-ton cranes. A central, two level mezzanine contains shop space and offices for production support. This 42,000 sq. ft. facility is designed for vessels up to 200’ long by 50’ wide. Washburn & Doughty personnel are experienced designing and building to ABS rules, US Coast Guard requirements including subchapters H, K and T, Lloyds classification, IEEE-45 Electrical standards, US Public Health Service regulations and Canadian Coast Guard requirements. The yard can build to suit a customer’s plans, or its experienced in-house architect can custom design a boat. Washburn & Doughty uses CAD/CAM, and a numerically controlled plasma cutting machine, in the design/construction process to help turn an owner’s ideas into the finished product.
