SEATTLE – Washington State Ferries trips have been either delayed or cancelled at least 24 times this summer, causing inconveniences by the multitude. When passengers ask what’s up, the state often blames missing deckhands.
A KOMO report, however, says the ferries are operating on minimum certificate-of-inspection staffing levels on just about every trip, thus resulting in a single sick or late worker keeping the vessel at the dock.
