What’s that? You love reality shows like Deadliest Catch and Bering Sea Gold but wish there was one focused on the tug-boat life? Well, you’re in luck. Tonight on the History Channel debuts Great Lake Warriors, a reality show that features five tug captains plying their trade on the Great Lakes: John Selvick, owner of Calumet River Fleeting, based in Chicago; Ted Long, also of Calumet River Fleeting; Selvick’s stepson Nathan Schley, who helms the Mary E. Hannah and runs ice-breaking operations; Stan Dawson, who with brother Gerry runs Thunder Bay Tugs; and Mike Ojard, owner of Heritage Marine, which operates on Lake Superior.
The show follows these men and their boats as they perform both everyday and extraordinary work on Lake Michigan, including Calumet Harbor, Illinois; Gary and Burns Harbors, Indiana; Milwaukee, Oak Creek, Sturgeon Bay, and Marinette, Wisconsin; and on Lake Superior, including Duluth-Superior Harbor and Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada.
