MORGAN CITY, La. – Recently, Workboat senior editor Ken Hocke visited the A&B Industries shipyard. General manager Sean C. Torgrimson spoke with him about a number of vessels in his yard, including a new 66’8″×30’×10′ towboat for Blessey Marine Services. Designed by Parfait Maritime Designs in Mobile, Ala., the towboat is the third of three new vessels A&B has built for Blessey. The towboat’s main propulsion comes from twin Cummins QSK19-M diesels, producing 600 hp at 1,800 rpm each. The new towboat is scheduled for delivery in October. A&B is also working on several repair jobs for Weeks Marine.
