Tidewater names new COO

Tidewater, a provider of offshore supply vessels and marine support services to the offshore energy industry, has promoted its executive vice president, Jeffrey Platt, to the position of COO.

Mr Platt will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day marine and shipyard operations of the company, both domestically and internationally.

Mr Platt joined Tidewater in 1996 as general manager of Tidewater’s business activities in Brazil. In November 2001, he was promoted to the position of corporate vice president with responsibility for all of Tidewater’s business activities in South America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Dean Taylor, chairman and CEO of Tidewater, said: “Jeff Platt’s contributions have been and will be key to the excellence of our operations worldwide. His promotion recognizes the importance of his leadership and contributions.
