Resource Power Group installs MaK diesel gensets on USNS Howard O Lorenzen

Resource Power Group has successfully completed the installation, commissioning, and warranty for three MaK 12V32C medium speed diesel generator sets on the USNS Howard O Lorenzen TAG-M 25 ship constructed by VT Halter Marine.

Caterpillar Defense and Federal Products selected Resource Power Group to support this project for many reasons, the supplier of medium speed engines and services for large bore diesel and natural gas engines says, including an ability to provide highly competent, large-bore engine commissioning personnel, 24/7 technical support, and prompt service.

“Being the administrator for most contracts awarded by the U.S. Government, Caterpillar Defense and Federal Products depends on the Caterpillar Dealer network for all installation, commissioning, training and service (pre- and post-warranty) for all these projects. Resource Power Group performed this role for the T-AGM 25 vessel recently accepted by the U.S. Navy,” says Darrell A. Kuhne, project manager, Caterpillar Defense & Federal Products, in an RPG press release.

“The work done by their service technicians was nothing short of excellent as they provided a skilled, proactive approach to their work that was appreciated not only by Caterpillar, but also by the shipyard that built the vessel and the U.S. Navy,” Kuhne continues. “Additionally, the support given by the management and parts department of Resource Power Group was unwavering and was key to the success of this installation. I would highly recommend Resource Power Group for their knowledge, skill and expertise of the MaK product line and look forward to future opportunities with them.”
