Pascagoula man killed in VT Halter Marine accident

PASCAGOULA, Miss. – The Mississippi Press is reporting that 66-year-old Lee Thibodeaux died yesterday while working at the VT Halter Marine shipyard here. According to Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus, Thibodeaux died of blunt force trauma to the upper body. He was a full-time employee working as a sandblast helper. 

OSHA will investigate the cause of the accident.

“Clearly, our hearts go out to the family, and we’re assisting them in any way we can,” VT Halter Marine CEO Bill Skinner told reporter April Havens. “We lost an employee in a work-related accident, and we’re cooperating fully with the government investigation.”
