In December, the U.S. Coast Guard rescued nine members of the workboat Lady Marie after it ran across a wellhead in the Gulf of Mexico about seven miles from shore. Four HH-65C rescue helicopter crews from Air Station New Orleans medivaced six injured people from the workboat. Four men were flown to Air Station New Orleans where ambulances met them and two others were flown directly to a hospital. Two rescue boat crews from Station Venice (La.) transported two men to shore.
