NEWS BITTS – Maritime Web site for mariners launched

Capt. Robert L. Johnson recently launched tugboatlife.com, a new Web site designed by and for the maritime and merchant mariners community. The site contains news, discussion boards, a downloads section, and a place where site members can create their own online journals. The site also features a private message board for members to communicate with each other and links of interest to the community. “There are about 60,000 people working on tugs in the United States. I want the Web site to promote what we do and to serve as a voice for the people in this business,” said Johnson, a tug captain for over 15 years. “We want to attract and retain people who are interested in our line of work.”
