Barge sinks off Miami coast

MIAMI — Coast Guard crews and commercial salvage tugboats remained on scene for days as a 270-foot barge sank approximately 20 miles east of Miami, Nov.  9, 2011. The crew of a 94-foot tugboat towing the barge notified Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders they were experiencing fuel problems and later became disabled and adrift Nov. 7, 2011.
