HOUSTON - Marine Healthcare Services announced
this week they are poised to launch their fourth crew medical service facility
to service the ports of South Florida. Chief Operational Officer Lloyd
Schwing announced that MHS has partnered with Holy Cross Hospital of Ft.
Lauderdale, Fla. Mr. Schwing said in a press release, “Holy Cross represents the best of the
best in the South Florida area and understands the challenges when dealing with
sick or injured crew making Holy Cross a perfect fit for the two companies. The
facility will be positioned to handle crew from both Port Everglades and
Miami.” Opening date has been set for July 15.
MHS CEO Mike Chaney said in a statement that the company’s mantra of thinking allows MHS to make sure that the best
interest of all parities involved are addressed, “We ensure that the crewmembers
treatment is first and foremost along with taking into account the needs of the
vessel owner and agents. This is a win, win, win philosophy and has proven to
meet the many challenges foreign crew present when entering the US healthcare
system.”
