Massachusetts Maritime Academy announced this week it will host the Fifth Annual Women on the
Water Conference (WOW), in partnership with the Maritime Administration, on Oct.
27 through 29.
They are also soliciting input for conference content: "Whether you are currently a cadet, new to the maritime industry, or
have been around since Davy Jones, we invite you to provide input to the 2011
conference. Feedback on previous conferences, as well as ideas for this year’s
conference, can be submitted to womenonthewater@dot.gov."
WorkBoat editors are hosting a webinar along similar topic lines on Wednesday, May 25. Click here for details.
This year’s conference will bring together cadets from the seven
maritime academies and senior professionals who are leaders in various sectors
of the maritime industry, according to the press release. Materials say the event
provides an excellent opportunity for the cadets to learn more about the
exciting careers that are open to them directly from successful mariners and
maritime executives, as well as to hear about the current issues affecting the
maritime industry. It is also an
excellent opportunity for the cadets and maritime professionals alike to meet
and network with others in the maritime industry.

Water Conference or have questions regarding the conference, please email womenonthewater@dot.gov.
