W&O Continues Corporate Structure Transformation, Enhances Focus on Government and Military Sector
The Jacksonville, Fla.-based company says it has created two new positions for a more strategic approach to servicing current customers and fostering growth in this sector of the marine industry. Leading this effort is Fred Loomis, director of Navy and government sales; and Frank Campion, business development manager, government and military sales.
“Due to the success we have experienced with our involvement in military projects, we identified the need to enhance our focus on this segment of the marine industry,” said Michael Hume, president and CEO of W&O in a company press release. “We’ve collaborated with the U.S. Navy, shipyards, subcontractors and other government entities to help bring success to numerous high-profile military projects. The individuals in these positions will further strengthen our capacity to service this sector and make W&O a better partner for the government and military moving forward.”
Loomis has more than two decades of marine industry experience. During his 14 years at W&O, he has worked on numerous projects for the U.S. Navy, including the Littoral Combat Ship, the DDG Destroyer programs, and worked closely with the U.S. Coast Guard. After graduating from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, he worked as a tugboat captain in the Boston and New York harbors.
Campion, a retired U.S. Navy Commander, recently joined W&O as business development manager, government and military sales. He will serve as W&O’s liaison to this sector, the company says, by developing and delivering solutions for naval ship operations.
During his time in the Navy, he held various leadership positions in navigation and shipboard operations, and worked on Navy acquisition programs in the Pentagon. Campion earned his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Military Institute, his master’s degree in management from Naval Postgraduate School, and his Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
