U.S. Shipping Corp. hires James Peck to fill Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager post
Peck, who will be based in Houston, Texas, was most recently in Logistics Vetting - North American Logistics for Dow Chemical Company in Houston. Peck’s background includes work in Dow Logistics and Dow SAP implementation, serving as Dow co-chairman inventory record accuracy for Sarbanes Oxley, and process lead for Houston Plant order-to-cash.
Peck’s experience also includes being an adjunct professor of engineering economy at the University of Houston and a Boy Scouts of America troop leader.
Peck earned an MBA from Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Management and his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee School of Logistics and Transportation.
"Jim will be a strong addition to our program,” says USSC Chief Operating Officer Bill Braman in a company press release. “His primary role as HSEQ Manager will include extensive interface with our ships, crew, regulatory personnel and customers. He will also assist USSC senior management in identifying business opportunities, specifically in the gulf region, which will strengthen our strategic business plan and capital investment strategies."
