Drew Marine buys Ryan/Alexander

NEW YORK - Drew Marine announced this week the acquisition of Alexander/Ryan Marine & Safety and Sea Technology. Terms were not released.
Alexander/Ryan manufactures and distributes a number of safety products, in addition to providing safety certification, particularly in the offshore portion of the maritime industry. Drew was itself acquired in 2009 by J.F. Lehman & Company, and "this is yet another milestone for Drew Marine as it continues to pursue opportunities for growth," said Louis Mintz, a partner with Lehman.
"Alexander/Ryan Marine and Safety is a perfect fit with Drew Marine's strategy to grow in the offshore industry and expand our product offerings in maritime safety," said Len Gelosa, president and CEO of Drew Marine, in a statement. "We are pleased to welcome the Alexander/Ryan team of professionals to Drew Marine."
John Ryan, president of Alexander/Ryan Marine & Safety, echoed those sentiments in his statement: "We are excited about combining Alexander/Ryan with Drew Marine. Alexander/Ryan brings with it headquarters in Houston, along with offices in New Orleans and New Iberia, La.
