Kimberly Hegg has been hired by
W&O, the Jacksonville,
Fla.-based supplier of marine valves, pipe, fittings, engineered products,
valve automation and data management systems, as director of marketing and
communications.
Hegg,
who has more than 20 years of experience leading marketing initiatives for
several global companies, is tasked with strengthening the W&O brand, the
company says, and enhancing the brand’s relationship with customers, prospects,
vendors and employees.
“Marketing and communications touch every
aspect of our business, from the moment our customers hear of us through the
complete execution of a project,” said Michael Hume, W&O’s president and
CEO, in a company press release. “While our sales and marketing efforts have
always operated synergistically, we felt it was important to have someone of
Kimberly’s experience and caliber join our team to be our internal and external
brand champion. Strong brand management
and efficient execution of marketing and communications strategies are
essential for our long-term growth, particularly in regards to several
expansion opportunities we have in the immediate future. We are happy to welcome Kimberly to the
W&O team.”
In her new role, Hegg will ensure that the
W&O brand is communicated and strengthened with both external and internal
audiences. She will work alongside W&O’s vice president of sales and
marketing to align W&O’s strategic marketing and communications plan with
company sales goals. With execution assistance from her marketing and
communications team, Hegg will guide all strategies and tactics as they relate
to advertising, direct marketing, public relations, internal communications and
corporate branding.
Prior to joining W&O, Hegg served as
director of corporate marketing, marketing director/product manager, marketing
manager and customer service manager for a number of global companies. Various industries in which Hegg has
marketing experience include marine electronics, information and computer
technology, industrial door systems and home décor accessories. She began her
career at The Coca-Cola Co. followed by the national advertising agency
Fitzgerald & Co., after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in
advertising from Michigan State University.
