Signal International Inc. is pleased to announce the recent promotions of Michael R. Cook to Vice
President of Contracts and Technical Support and Andrew P. Veith to Vice
President of Engineering for Signal International.

Marler, the Mobile, Ala.-based company’s CEO and president, in a company press
release. “The promotion of these two managers underscores Signal’s commitment
to a culture of excellence at every level of the organization, with emphasis on
quality, safety, and engineering technology.”
Cook will be responsible for the company’s award-winning safety
program, its quality management program and contracts management, including
pre-contract review, negotiation and contract administration.
Cook possesses over 32 years of technical and management
experience in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry. He previously held the
position of vice president of operations for Signal Ship Repair, managing the
overall day-to-day operations. Cook’s experience includes several management
positions at Bender Shipbuilding with progressive responsibility and numerous
training courses.
Veith will oversee the engineering efforts of all the Signal
yards in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Since joining the organization in Feb
2010, Veith has held positions as engineering manager of Signal Ship Repair and
most recently, director of engineering for Signal International.
Prior to joining Signal, Veith served in various positions
in the engineering department at Bender Shipbuilding, from chief marine
engineer to engineering department manager. He holds a bachelor of science
degree in marine engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
