Resource Power Group (RPG), supplier of medium speed
engines and services for large bore diesel and natural gas engines, has made
three recent appointments to the company’s management staff.
“We have assembled the requisite leadership
at RPG to propel our medium and slow speed engine business forward with a
heightened sense of urgency for our customers,” said Robert Webb, president of Reserve,
La.-based Louisiana CAT, RPG’s parent company, in an RPG press release. “This
team combines commercial experience, technical experience, and a deep industry
knowledge, which will help RPG to support its customers in the territory. This
is an exciting development.”
Sean Carey has been named the engine sales
and service company’s general manager of the MaK and large bore engine business
for the southeast United States and the Caribbean territories. Carey is a U.S.
Merchant Marine Academy graduate who previously was employed as a service sales
manager for Wartsila North America Inc.
“With Sean’s leadership, RPG will quickly
become a preferred equipment and services supplier for MaK engines and other
large bore diesel and natural gas engines to customers in the U.S. and the
Caribbean,” Webb said.
RPG, the authorized dealer for marine MaK
engines in the southeast United States and the Caribbean territories, has also appointed
Juan Carlos Perez as operations manager for its Miami operations. Perez most
recently served as the general manager for contract and project management for
Wartsila North America Inc. and branch manager for the Seattle and Long Beach
offices. The Massachusetts Maritime Academy graduate spent 14 years there.
“Juan Carlos brings a deep understanding of
the commercial and technical aspects of the marine and energy engine business.
This is a very exciting appointment for RPG,” Carey said.
In addition, Jack A. Smith has been appointed
technical manager for the company’s large bore engine business. Smith is a U.S.
Merchant Marine Academy graduate and a 28-year veteran of the sea, having
served as the chief engineer for various sea land container vessels. More
recently he has also managed stationary power plants.
“Jack is a highly skilled marine engineer and
troubleshooter who has a deep understanding about marine and stationary power
plant operations. He brings tremendous experience and maturity to the RPG team,”
Carey said.
