Phil Keeter, a marine retail pioneer for over 50 years, has
joined Norman-Spencer Agency Inc.’s
marine insurance services division
as vice president of dealer services.
Keeter began his career by opening his Tulsa, Okla.
dealership in 1959. In 1972, with 12 other dedicated dealers, Keeter recognized
the need to band together marine retailers for the betterment of their industry
and formed the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, the agency says.
After 23 years as MRAA president, he retired in 2011, but
his loyalty to the marine industry continues with Norman-Spencer. As vice
president of dealer services, the Dayton, Ohio-based agency says, Keeter will
provide dealers with the opportunity to realize untapped revenues and
significant savings available only through Norman-Spencer’s exclusive dealer
programs.
“It has been my privilege for the last 25 years to work with
dealers and recognize their needs. Their necessity for additional profit
centers and cost controls for their businesses in the insurance arena have
always been very apparent,” says Keeter in a Norman-Spencer press release. “By
joining the national leader in consumer and commercial marine insurance, I will
be able to help dealers achieve new and unrealized profits. Norman-Spencer has
been the exclusive, committed provider and sponsor for dealer efforts for 25
years and it is my honor to join their team.”
“Phil has been a friend and a valued business partner for a
quarter-century,” says Paul Norman, Norman-Spencer’s CEO. “It is a natural
progression for Phil to join our team, and to continue his relentless efforts
to provide every dealer with the ability to pursue new ways of earning revenue,
especially in these trying times for the industry.”
