Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI), the Charleston, S.C.-based manufacturer
of diesel engines for the commercial marine industry, has reorganized its
commercial marine business around five customer-focused market segments:
commercial transport; offshore oil and gas; passenger transport; government/defense;
and special use (fishing).
In line with this reorganization, the company has named Greg
Young director of strategic growth, commercial transport and Waldemar Marchetti
director of strategic growth, offshore. The addition of these two key positions
will enable Cummins to continue to meet the needs of its global customer base, the
company says, while providing focus to the product and service needs of these
highly specialized segments within the commercial marine industry.
As the director of strategic growth, commercial transport,
Young will lead the strategic direction and growth efforts for this market segment,

American commercial transport markets, Cummins says. Young has been with
Cummins Inc. for over 30 years, most recently serving as the director of
strategy, OEM and business development for Cummins Westport since 2003.
Young has held a variety of roles within the company, Cummins
says, including European technical operations, automotive sales, European and
African distribution management, quality champion and has been located in the
UK, Belgium and South Africa.
Young holds a degree in mechanical engineering and a diploma
in management studies. He will be located in Daventry, United Kingdom, and will
report directly to Jenny Bush, general manager for the commercial marine business.
As director of strategic growth, offshore support, Marchetti
will lead growth efforts for one of the fastest growing segments in the
commercial marine industry, Cummins says. Marchetti brings with him an
abundance of offshore market knowledge, having served as the marine sales and marketing
director in Latin American for the last six years. In that role, he led Cummins
entry into Brazil’s highly competitive offshore market.
Marchetti has been with Cummins for almost nine years,
previously supporting the distributor channel and numerous international OEMs. Marchetti
is a mechanical engineering graduate with an advanced degree in physics, as
well as a Master in Business Administration degree. He will continue to be
