Ed Gniewek has been named CEO of Bristol, Va.-based
Bristol Compressors International Inc., producer of compressors for use in air
conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems.
A Detroit, Mich., native, Gniewek is an industry
professional whose career includes years of senior executive experience and a
strong leadership background, the company says.
Gniewek most recently served as president of EFP Corp., a
producer of engineered products and packaging for the medical, pharmaceutical,
food, consumer and building markets. Prior to his tenure at EFP, Gniewek was
CEO and president of Durakon Industries, a key supplier to the automotive
original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket sector. He has also held
executive positions at Johnson Controls Automotive Group, Intertec Systems,
TechnoTrim, Allen Industries and Ford Motor Co. Since 2006, he has served on
the board of directors at Creative Foam Corp.
During his nearly four-decades-long career, Gniewek has
developed a worldwide distribution network covering more than 50 countries. He
has opened 17 manufacturing plants and three warehouse facilities throughout
North and South America and managed companies ranging from $22 million to $1
billion in sales revenue.

Organizations associated with Gniewek have been recipients
of the Ford Motor Co. Gold Global Excellence Award, the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce award for opening new markets in foreign countries, the Shingo Prize
for manufacturing excellence and a number of other industry awards and
recognitions. He has a B.M.E. from the University of Detroit and is certified
by the Lean Enterprise Institute to teach value stream mapping.
